We were lucky enough to stay in a great hotel in JB complete with rooftop swimming pool which the kids enjoyed as usual. JB is busy but pleasant, and we had a good time eating copious amounts of cooked delicacies at a steam boat restaurant. We could see the causeway to Singapore clearly from our hotel window; we could also see how busy it was! Such was the significance of the causeway that there was a TV channel that showed nothing but a live feed of the traffic on it day and night.
We were a bit anxious about the crossing to say the least, but as it turned out it was pretty easy and the officials on both sides of the border were exceptionally friendly and professional. We cruised across at high speed, weaving amongst motorbikes and enjoying the change of scene as we entered Singapore proper.
