Sightseeing Melaka

Lovely architecture in this heritage city.  Our hotel was conveniently located close to the centre of town, so we were able to daytrip on the bikes without any panniers.  What a difference to the feel of the bikes that made!  Mark proudly held thirty kms per hour on the flat for quite a while and loved it.
We saw old buildings while weaving between friendly trishaw drivers, and became proficient in riding the wrong way up narrow one way streets by following locals doing the same. We also visited a museum shaped like a ship where Finn and Bella befriended a school group.
Bron was able to recover from a tummy bug despite our room being entirely decorated a sickly shade of green.

Amigo restaurant

Conveniently recommended by the taxi driver when I asked for western takeaway that wasn't KFC, pizza hut, or McDonalds, the AMIGO restaurant here in Malacca serves a curious blend of Japanese and western cuisine.  Funny combo, but just the ticket for when you're growing tired of the usual fare and you crave both spaghetti and sushi in one sitting!  Tonight we eat like kings - and only for the princely sum of A$10!
