Batu Ferringhi

After a tough route round Penang with a few wrong turns (which took us up some ridiculous hills that we couldn't even push up let alone ride), we arrived at the beach tourist strip of Batu Ferringhi.  Lovely hotels but the beach wasn't our favourite.  We tried parasailing behind a boat and loved it, and also visited a fruit farm and spice farm.  Three nights and lots of swimming later and it was time to head off.  Oh and the food was exceptional here - Mark even tried a lobster!

  2. The food! The food! Yes, I guess the sleepy little fishing villages spaced out along the coast are somewhat transformed now and their inhabitants are now fishing for tourists in the many resorts instead. Ahhh, progress! At least the food has not changed.
