Yubari, hills, and a T-Rex

We woke early with the tent still in one piece and nothing amiss about camp.  As happens when you set up camp in the dark, the view in the morning is always a surprise! Turns out we had camped metres away from an irrigation canal... And it looked like we were nestled between two fields just off a main road.  We headed to a petrol station to get fuel for our stove and a hearty pre made meal from seven eleven (freshly made sushi that was a quarter of the price we are used to paying and even more tasty).
Then we were off on a huge ride over the mountains to Yubari.  The hills were the longest/hardest we have ever done, and we were in our granny gears most of the time.  The forest was beautiful, and occasionally we would go through a long tunnel on the top of a mountain and then be presented with a spectacular view
followed by a steep descent.  It was great riding, but we were glad to see the end of it as dusk fell and we reached camp 70kms away at lake Katsurazawa.  The campsite was somewhat dilapidated but did feature a gigantic sculpture of a dinosaur which was awesome.  Hard but rewarding riding with a fun campsite to crash at.
